Games night (no potluck)
I don't think we have enough people for a pot luck (because there's always a few who have to cancel at the last minute). So I'm changing this to a games only night at a different location. If this changes things for you, please update your RSVP. I've found a new location that I'd like to try. Sobey's on 8th St near Cumberland has a Starbuck's and a room next to it. It's a very nice atmosphere with nice tables. They close at 11:00 so we will need to pack up around 10:30. I'll bring my game, Chicken Soup for the Soul, which is a fun game for getting to know each other. I will also bring Pandemic. If you have any other co-operative games, bring them. Usual fee - $2.00 for the meetup.

    What we're about

This is a group for us not-so-young 'kids' (45ish to senior) who like to play board games and meet new people in a casual, recreational and entertaining environment. Younger people are welcome as long as they are comfortable with the older set being the focus of the group.

Play some games you've played for many years, or ones you haven't played since you were young, or learn some new games. Whatever your level of interest, you are welcome. Feel free to bring your favorite game, or one you want to try, or just bring yourself.

We've been averaging anywhere from 6-14 people per night, with about 20 people I'd call regulars. We have lots of fun each night.

We will meet about once or twice a month in a location such as a coffee shop. Some people like Friday nights, some Saturday, so we will mix it up.

My goal it to keep the a cohesive group so membership is limited to less than 50 people. If anyone signs up and doesn't come out reasonable quickly they will be removed. If people RSVP and the dont show up they also will be removed. That's why it's important to change your RSVP to 'no' if you can't make it.

Cost is minimal - buy your own coffee/tea/etc. Chip in $2 to help pay for the cost of the website (no charge for the first time so you can check us out).

The group has been going for over 3 years; I expect it will continue to evolve. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
