Welcome! This is a free group for anyone interested in getting outside to draw and paint urban scenes (with or without people) and landscapes in Marin including: Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tennessee Valley, Tiburon, San Rafael, San Anselmo and other beautiful locations in Marin. Join up and stay tuned for more updates soon!
I started this group to encourage myself and others to get out and study nature and life in the open air and natural light and to meet some cool and interesting artists and outdoor enthusiasts along the way! There are wonderful free drawing and painting groups in SF and East Bay but not in Marin... so thought I'd start one!
Please bring your own art materials and supplies. Art materials can be simple or complex and may include: journals, paper pads. boards, canvas, easels, graphite, pens, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, oil paints, and clean up supplies like paper towels, etc.
For those that would like to set up an easel or mix paints, please make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the location and set up, especially in the evening when the sun will be setting. And please plan on packing up and taking all of your materials and garbage with you. Cheers!
Looking forward to meeting you and studying beautiful Marin in the open air and natural light... come and join us for some outdoor fun!
See you soon!
PS: meetup location suggestions are most welcome!
