What's your favorite sci fi genre? (space opera, hard sf, cyberpunk, etc.)

Time travel. I just read John Swartzwelder's comedy novel The Time Machine Did It. And I've seen Back to the Future in theaters three times. Not when it originally came out of course, because I wasn't born yet.

Have any favorite sci fi authors or scriptwriters?

Joss Whedon and currently John Scalzi. Got to see him at Barnes and Noble recently to promote his new book Redshirts. Fantastic read, by the way.

What are your favorite sci fi movies and/or TV shows?

Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Star Trek, Sliders, Megas XLR, Doctor Who and The X-Files to name a few obvious favorites.

Star Trek or Star Wars?

Both?

Introduction

Hey, my name is Matthew Jay. I'm a huge sci-fi fan and an aspiring sci-fi writer. Some of my favorite sci-fi works are Star Trek and all Whedon properties (of course), John Scalzi's work, Slaughterhouse Five, Dune, and a ton more.
