About Us

Do you like science and the natural world?  Do you enjoy quiet, pleasant, small-group conversation?

To accommodate both early risers and folk who prefer evening gatherings, we occasionally meet in the early morning or in the early evening.  But to accommodate the vast majority of members (who it seems are both part-lark and part-owl), we generally meet for late-morning coffee...or brunch...or happy hour.

Please join us if you truly enjoy discussing all types of science:  biology, chemistry, astronomy, geology, ecology, meteorology, horticulture, physics, epidemiology, marine science, nanotechnology, mathematics (the queen of the sciences!) , neuroscience, computer science, scientific technology, medicine and related arts, engineering, etc.

But first, please know that you must agree to follow our "common courtesy" rules:

1) An RSVP (when you plan to attend a meeting) is required, as is cancelling if you subsequently find that you cannot make it after all.

2) To be fair to the people who work at the commercial establishments in which we meet, you must buy a refreshment and tip the server. Please look at the venue’s online menu beforehand to gage whether the offerings and the prices are to your liking.

3) Since groups need participants, we request that all members try to attend at least two meetings a year.  Of course, we hope you will want to participate more often!
