Chatting/drinking/laughing & optional walking @ Mum's Cafe & St Catherine's Hill

  • Mum's Cafe

4 St Catherines Parade, Fairmile Road, Christchurch (map)

    50.749619 -1.794039

  • Coming from Christchurch go up Bargates on to Fairmile Road, past Christchurch Hospital on left, past Co-op and row of shops on left and you will see a row of shops on the right hand side and Mum's Cafe is in the middle.
  • AS EVERYONE ENJOYED OUR FIRST MEET UP AT MUM'S CAFE SO MUCH (SEE COMMENTS AT PREVIOUS MEET UP) ESPECIALLY THE FOOD (SUCH GOOD HOME COOKING & AT UNBELIEVABLY CHEAP PRICES FOR THE QUALITY & PORTION SIZE)  I AM GOING TO HAVE THIS MEET UP EVERY 4 WEEKS.    A WALK AFTERWARDS WILL ALWAYS BE OPTIONAL DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER EACH MONTH.  COME AND JOIN US SOON FOR GREAT FOOD AND FABULOUS COMPANY WITH LOTS OF LAUGHTER X

Mum's Café in Christchurch has an excellent rating on Trip Advisor and is a small very friendly family café, run by the lovely Anna and her husband Karl .   Anna is great fun and will go out of her way to ensure you  really enjoy your visit and food!  The food is homemade at very reasonable prices and you are always made to feel very welcome.  I live 5 minutes walk away and when I pass it is always busy with lots of laughter coming out of the door.  It has a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, have a look at the reviews on Trip Advisor they are all glowing!!!

It is very busy in the mornings and for Sunday Lunch as it is famous for its breakfasts and its Sunday Roast (you have to book to get a table on a Sunday ) and so I thought we can go in the afternoon when it will be quieter and Anna said we can book a table.  As it is only a small café I will be limiting the spaces to 12 and also to keep the group small and friendly, so everyone gets a chance to chat with each other.

It closes at 3.15pm so I will book a table for 1.30pm so it gives people who want to eat lunch,  time to enjoy their food and for those who just want a drink and perhaps a slice of yummy cake loads of time for chatting and laughing.

What is also great about Anna is that she is happy for each person to go up to the counter and pay their bill individually :) which stops the horrendous mega bill that appears at the end of many meet ups in restaurants/cafes and which take forever to agree who is paying for what :)  More time for chatting and laughing less time for bill sorting out.

Afterwards as usual, anyone who fancies it can come a walk and continue with the chatting and laughing to St Catherine's Hill which is close by.

PARKING :  Please note there are numerous street parking spaces right outside the café but if they are full there is loads of free parking on all the streets around and only a few minutes walk from the café.
