The Second Mystery Ride of 2014

OK, another behind the scenes adventure that I can promise you that you have driven by but never been to. It will be loud and maybe even a bit dusty but you will discover the how they do it for something you use pretty much every day. We all take it pretty much for granted but believe me, it is essential. It will be very interesting and afterwords we will be going to lunch at a really unique restaurant. Even Benny likes it.

OK, a new update, the scheduled activity for the February 15th Mystery ride has canceled our visit... the second one this year. But fear not, there has been an alternative selected that promises to be interesting and not near as dusty place to go. We will be using the surface streets through some areas of town that you haven't been to in a bit. Lots of history and value involved in this activity. You probably have been around here in the past, but never realized that this was here. It probably wasn't easy to find back then, depending on how long ago you were here. Bring your camera, there will be things you will want to take pictures of and with.

I have arranged a package deal that includes lunch and the admission for $10.00 per person. This means it will not be a 100 mile day like the first Mystery Ride. We will be meeting in the far parking lot at The Egg & I so we don't give the impression that we have taken over the restaurant. You are welcome to come early and have breakfast at The Egg & I. No special arrangements have been made with the restaurant for seating, so it is catch as catch can.

Clutch out at 9:00 AM. Please be gassed up and watered off for the departure. I hate losing folks on a ride when they have to have an emergency stop. We will be riding in groups of about 5 motorcycles so we can ride safely. Individual groups may be more amenable to emergency stops.

So, come one, come all, for a day of adventure that will avoid the freeways and take you through some interesting neighborhoods. All are welcome...2 wheels, 3 wheels, 4 wheels or more. The more the merrier. The weather here is perfect for riding and getting out and letting your motorcycle get some exercise. You could be back east, freezing in the dark and waiting for 6 more weeks of winter. Savor it while you can, too soon summer will be here.

Didn't quite turn out as planned, so plan "C" was initiated, it worked out well for some.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we could not get into the venue but there was an alternative suggested and we enjoyed that.

I look forward to my first ride with the group, granted I have to get up at 0600 but there's no traffic to speak of.

We have loads of good memories in our many years enjoying GWRRA. Topping the list are the several great Mystery Rides in AZ-S. Richard has made his mark for sure in that capacity of someone to follow, wherever he goes. Ray & Sandi Garris
