Scrabble Lovers of Columbus actually began around 20 years ago as an affiliated club for the National Scrabble Association (now the North American Scrabble Players Association (NASPA)) based in German Village. It is currently in two different locations: (1) Kroger Brewery District/Tap Room, 150 W. Sycamore St. in the Brewery District on Mondays, and (2) various libraries like Upper Arlington/Tremont Library, 2800 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington on Saturdays (for the most part).
We have all different skills levels playing. We follow the NASPA rules and use their word book (it helps to know the 2-letter words, people). Some of us even go to tournaments.
Don't be afraid of the board, tiles and clocks we use. The timers gives everyone an opportunity to play others, which makes us less casual than some folks like.
Hope to see everyone when you can make it to a Monday or Saturday Meetup. Also, keep an eye out for any other Scrabble play.
