April Agile Manager's Support Group

Tonight's Topic:  The Value of Agile Values

Explore “values” beyond organizational mumbo jumbo.  What is important to you at work?  How does it drive your scrum team’s results?  How can you use values-based coaching to improve the effectiveness of your team?  Join us tonight to learn more!

7:00 - 8:00 PM - The Main Event!

The Value of Agile Values with Laura Powers

With a topic like “values”  - you might expect that tonight’s guest speaker is the “pointy haired boss” from Scott Adam’s comic strip Dilbert.  Aren’t “values” just a tangle of organizational mumbo jumbo - lost somewhere between missions, manifestos, and the ongoing debate over where to put the comma?

At the level of you and your team – YOUR values are what you believe is important to how you live and work. They determine your behavior, priorities, decisions, and ultimately your results.  Join us tonight to explore work values for you and your team and how they fit into the world of Agile.

About Laura: Who is this Laura Powers person?

With 25 years of engineering and management experience, Laura has been involved in the design of aircraft engines, diapers, electric cars, as well as software systems at Hewlett Packard,, and eBay. Ironically, the lean concepts practiced eons ago at the start of her career have migrated into the world of software!

At Agile Learning Labs, Laura is involved in sales, marketing, training development, and whatever else is needed to deliver scrum value to our clients.  She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, as well as certifications as a Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Scrum Product Owner and Certified Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
