Fun Day of Diving at Folsom Lake

For all of you who have wanted to do some local diving, here is your chance! We will be diving at Beal’s Point off Auburn Folsom Road. All certified skill levels are welcome to join us. Bring the family and spend the day, or just come out and dive. Bring you favorite BBQ item, a side to share and
Scuba World will provide the drinks. We will be at the South East side of the parking lot. Don’t miss out on a fun filled day of diving, eating, and hanging out with other local divers! We will be diving all day and will start the BBQ around 11:30am. Please RSVP so Scuba World knows how many drinks to bring. P.S. Don’t forget to reserve your tanks at Scuba World. See you there, Bryan

Some items lost their owner at the lake on Sunday: 1. Green/Brown "California Inovations cnavas Bag, 2. A white plastic serving spoon, 3. some reusable ice packs. Contact me so we can make arrangements to get you reunited with your item. :))

Great lake viz/conditions + Great dive peeps + Great Food + UW Trivia/Nav = FUN Day of Diving at Folsom. I agree with Bryan...it WAS the great dive peeps that helped make it a success and we're so glad y'all had a good time. Mission accomplished! Thanks to Scuba World for providing cold drinks to us thirsty divers! I'm sure there will be more dive meetups to come either at Folsom or elsewhere...

P.S. Craig and his buddy Andrea won the Nav Drawing. I somehow got sidetracked and didn't get the chocolate goodies to those who particpated in the activities. I'll try to abstain and bring them to the next Schmooze! :))

Sunday was just a terrific meetup activity. Kudos to Bryan, and Vida, and Randy too for all their planning, their early arrival to snag a spot, and all their hard work. It was a great day of diving with decent conditions, a fun navigation course, and even an underwater "pop quiz". The food was amazing, and as always the meetup folks were friendly and fun. I made 3 dives, and now know the rock pile off Beale's point very well. Let's do this again before it's 100 degrees.

    Hey all you Bubble Makers!
To step up the fun factor with the "Search & Recovery" activity, we will incorporate some underwater dive trivia. So bring your slate to answer a simple trivia Q for each item found (about 8). A "little yummy something" will be awarded to participants with all the correct answers. The buddy teams who complete the Nav Course will be entered into a drawing for a yummy prize!!! No Buddy? No Worries...you got a buddy with us!
    Should be fun! C-ya soon!

    Hey Everyone,

I thought it might be best with this many people coming, we should start a list on what people are bringing as a side for the BBQ. This way we won't have 20lb of potato salad! Please indicate in your RSVP what you plan to bring. I'm bringing Texas dip, plates, utensils, and napkins.

  • Dean

    Great idea.

    May 23, 2010

  • Bryan M.

    Hey Everyone,

For fun, a few of us thought we would set up a Navigation course and hide an item or two in the water for those of you who would like to practice your Search and Recovery skills. Nothing to hard, just something extra to do while diving. These activities are just for fun. More details to come in the following days.

    Thanks,

    Bryan
