1)If you need one, you can find a buddy at check-in. 2)Check-in begins at 7:30 am. Try and get there early. 3)Initial parking will be in the Fish Market parking lot just South of the Midway. 4)We'll have transport vehicles to get you to your dive site. 5)We'll have a very few parking passes to hand out, but most of you will be on meters. (Bring quarters.) 8)Bring your own mesh bags for garbage if you have them. (Lobster bags work.) We'll have a few to hand out if you need one. 9)Bring your own water bottle if you have one. We'll have water for you as well. 10)You'll be assigned to a site as part of your check-in process. 11)Bring big containers of water to rinse off with if you can. 12)Public bathrooms at Tuna Harbor and a porta-potty (put in just for us) by the Maritime Museum/Star of India.
CLUE: Bring prodigious amounts of water with which to rinse yourself off immediately after your dive. Don't count on a water hose being available (but we're trying).

Diving in San Diego Bay is forbidden... unless you're volunteering for this fun, important event!
It's an unfortunate fact people throw trash in the water... but we will take it out! The side-benefit is getting to dive in an area not normally open to us divers. Diving underneath/around the Star of India, submarine, Master and Commander replica ship, Tuna Harbor, or the USS Midway are all possibilities. Come volunteer and help give back to the environment! (Bring your u/w camera if you have one.)
There's no telling what you may find! (I found a tennis racket, crib, and BB-gun a few years ago!)

TIME: 7:30 am- 1 pm. Get there early to get your parking, sign in, and be assigned a pier. We'll have some muffins, water, and juice for you.
• 7:15 am – 8:15 am: Registration
• 8:15 am - 8:45 am: Welcome/Speaker/Safety Briefing
• 8:45 am– 9:30 am: Disperse to appropriate piers / DM mini-brief
• 9:30 am– 11:00 am: Pick up trash! (one tank only)
• 11:00 am: All divers out of the water by this time
• 11:00 am– 12:00 pm: Stow your gear, return to registration area
• 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm: Weighing Trash, Totals, Prizes, Wrap-up, and Group Photo
In order to participate in this dive event, you MUST:
• Email your request to join by September 12th at 9 am to: [masked]
• Email Emergency Contact Info and a COLOR COPY (scan or camera-phone pic) of your drivers license and certification card by October 5 at 9 am. Email: [masked] . Surface support/collectors need only send a scan of their ID. (Insider tip: Just take a camera-phone pic of your IDs and send them. Easy!)
• Have an Advanced certification or higher (as evidenced by your cert card scan).
Due to permitting issues and safety requirements, you WILL NOT be allowed to enter the water unless you have satisfied ALL THREE conditions!
GEAR: Divers must bring all of their own gear to participate (including tanks and weights). Mesh collection bags will be available to some while supply lasts, but bring your own bag to put trash in if you can.
TRANSPORT: We'll have trucks to transport gear and people to their assigned dive sites. These trucks will pick up and haul the trash the divers bring up as well.
AREA OF COVERAGE: A few blocks north of the Maritime Museum pier (northern point) to Tuna Harbor (southern point) by the Fish Market. MANY potential dive sites encompassed here.
RINSING: We're trying to arrange some rinse stations, but bring your own water to rinse yourself with too.
IMPORTANT: You must email us at [masked] providing your full name, cert card & ID scan/pic (in color), and Emergency Contact Info. If you can't scan/photograph your own IDs, then surely a friend or someone at work can help.
Arrive early to get parking. We have ??? reserved for us. After that, simply find a spot close by and park.
SPECIAL: The ??? will be present to welcome us and make a short speech.

Anyone with a medical condition possibly counter-indicative to diving must have a doctors signature on a diving waiver form and submit signed form to Bill Powers (or an organizer) before they may attend any Power Scuba event. YOU MAY NOT ATTEND AN EVENT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED MEDICAL CONDITION. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the group. Attending any scuba event Power Scuba facilitates constitutes attendee's affirmation they are medically fit to dive, certified to dive by a nationally-recognized agency, have the necessary skills & training level for the dive being offered, have read the Terms and Conditions, and have submitted a signed Liability Release to an organizer.
Important Note: You hereby affirm that you are solely responsible for your safety as a diver. No one else is responsible for your safety. If you consider any situation unsafe end your dive immediately and notify the event host/DM.
