    Avast! Get ready for the shore leave to end them all! The SeaBronies are taking Las Pegasus by storm! That’s right— VEGAS, BABY! The original party city is about to get a whirlwind of activity this coming summer from May 31 to June 3 – that’s Friday to Monday— as SeaBronies presents its 2019 shore excursion. Previous trips have taken us to the world-famous theme parks of Orlando, but this time, we’re taking Sin City to party down, Pinkie-style! What? That’s confusing? You see, it’s the third-largest in terms of area, with its 3,255 square miles making the city itself larger than Delaware or Rhode Island! An “island city”, Juneau is unique in that all people and goods must arrive by air or sea-- the city is not connected to the North American road network at all. After Juneau, the next day takes us to Skagway (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skagway,_Alaska), a historic former Gold Rush town (you didn’t know Alaska had a gold rush? You do now! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klondike_Gold_Rush)) with a lovely downtown shopping district and massive Gold Rush-era advertisements painted right on the surrounding cliffs (). This is also the starting point for our first planned shore excursion, a trip on the incredible White Pass & Yukon Route (https://wpyr.com/) heritage railway. Truly not to be missed if you can spare the dosh (approximately $100 per person), this “railway made of gold” travels over a breathtaking route on restored tracks dating back to the 1800s, featuring jaw-dropping views of mountains, glaciers, waterfalls and more. Hubbard routinely calves off icebergs the size of a ten-story building, and is so large and slow that it takes 400 years for ice to traverse its 76-mile span.
