This is notification for a Washington Lawyers for the Arts workshop. It does not replace their annual tax seminar which is usually held before April. This is not a meetup group social event - it will be a lecture which anyone is welcome to attend. The lecture starts promptly at 6, so please come at 5:45 to allow plenty of time to check in, find your seat, or pay for your ticket if you're that sort of last-minute person.
In this workshop, they'll review Washington State business taxes including B&O, Sales, Use, Personal Property, and other taxes. Also discussed are: City of Seattle taxes and a brief touch on taxes in other Washington cities, too. They'll highlight filing procedures and record keeping, and point you to other resources that may help you when it's time to sit down and do your own taxes.
Presenter Valerie Moseley is principal of Moseley & Associates LLC, a tax preparation and business advisory firm in downtown Seattle. Valerie is a CPA licensed with the Washington State Board of Accountancy and is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Xero Certified Partner, and Freshbooks Bean Counter. She is also a member of the Washington State Society of CPAs and a member of both the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance and the National Association of Tax Professionals. Valerie enjoys teaching and sharing information with her clients; she expands on this as a financial literacy volunteer with the Washington State Society of CPAs and as a bi-monthly speaker at SCORE. Valerie also has a background in the performing arts; she is the former Treasurer of the Board of Ear to the Ground, a Seattle-based physical theatre company, and is the current Treasurer of WLA.
