Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Photography Group! What
: Urban Photo Walk: Jack Block ParkWhen
: Tuesday, August 17,[masked]:00 PMWhere
: Jack Block Public Shoreline Access Park
2130 Harbor Ave SW
Seattle, WA 98126
By request, we'll be visiting Jack Block Park located "below" the West Seattle Bridge. This 15-acre Port of Seattle Park is unique - both beautiful and industrial. There are typical park-like features: interesting footbridges, public art, play areas for kids, gorgeous view of the Seattle skyline. And then, there's the juxtaposition of the industrial features. Adjacent to Harbor Island, there are cargo ships, huge shipping containers, and more. (Check out the VRSeattle link below for panoramic views from the park).http://www.maritimeheritage.net/attractions/attraction_select.asp?id=67http://www.vrseattle.com/pages/browse.php?cat_id=267
The photo attached is by Kiyoshi, who took this on Sunday July 25 from Jack Block Park at sunset.
The sun is scheduled to set at 8:18 p.m. Moonrise will be 8:02, and will be the day after 1st quarter moon. Let's meet in the parking lot at 7:00 p.m. I drive a 1997 white Toyota Corolla.
NOTE: There have been significant numbers of No-Shows for the photo walks. Given that each event has had a waiting list, it has been discouraging to have people not show up to events that others are waiting to join. To be fair to others, I will be using a No-Show policy. No-shows twice in a row or thrice in total will be removed from reserving spots in the future.
