Intermediate Drawing Class

New May Drawing Class! If you have learned all the basics in a beginner's drawing class, then you are ready to move up to an Intermediate Drawing class. Here, you will work on adding finesse to your drawings and paying closer attention to detail, perspective, proportions, shading, blending, composition, and contrast. You will work in pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink, while exploring more fully the different papers that are available for drawing, and seeing what a difference they can make in your final artwork. You will work from still life and photos.

What to bring: A small sketchbook for daily practice (5"x8" is fine), fine tip black markers, a set of drawing pencils, kneaded eraser, hard white eraser, black and white charcoal, sharpener, and paper stumps for blending. Bring a selection of drawing papers in your choice of colors. Some great papers are: Plate or Vellum Bristol board, Canson Mi-Tientes, Stonehenge, Strathmore, and Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. Large sheets can be folded and torn into smaller sheets. Check these out online if you are not sure where to find them at

Minimum class size is 3-Maximum class size is 7. PLEASE NOTE: No additional students will be accepted after the beginning of the second class, or after the maximum class size has been reached. 10% of each tuition is donated to the SAA Art Scholarship Fund for high school seniors who will be attending college. This class will be offered again in the near future. Please contact me if you are interested.

Class starts: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 and runs for 5 weeks (to June 17th), 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Cost is $135.00. To hold your spot, please mail a check directly to: Revelle Taillon, 26 West Pine Street, Plaistow, NH 03865. Phone:[masked]-3397. Email: [masked]. Blog:

Classes will be taught by Revelle Taillon, member of the Seacoast Artist Association. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration, and runs her own design/illustration studio. She has been teaching art for 4 years.

This is where all good art starts! If you can draw, you can paint! Extensive studies in the art of "Drawing" is essential to good painting. Even the best drawing materials are usually less expensive than a full set of quality paints and brushes!
