In case anyone is interested, there's a kickstarter for a movie about making a passive greenhouse that stays warm all winter....a project of Paul Wheaton. Lots of incentives for backers: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/paulwheaton/greenhouse-1?ref=d63cj2
Has anyone out there gotten into making compost or manure tea? Have you used equipment with aerator and pump, or just a simple bucket? I've only done the simple way before and wonder if the more sophisticated methods are worth it. All thoughts and suggestions welcome. Thanks! Amala
Hello permies Does anyone know where I can get some husk cherry plants ??
Hello! Our family would like to introduce meat rabbits to our homestead. I am particularly interested in the silver fox rabbit. Is there anyone here that can please point me towards an ethical breeder? Thank you!
Tried to send a donation via PayPal but it cannot find the group. Can you post a link? Thanks.
I have been a beekeeper for about 10 years and have decided to take at least a year off so I can focus on other endeavors. I'm considering if it would be good to offer the use of all my equipment and my location to someone to use. I have all the equipment necessary and am not looking for any of the proceeds. My motivation is to have the equipment used and to not sit unused. Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts on things to consider before allowing someone to do this? Would there be any interest? Anticipating taking at least a year off, as my colonies died or were combined, I did not replace them so someone would need to start with those.
am researching building a small off -the-grid as possible home- earth shelter, straw bale, cobb etc. looking at Ma., NH or Me. Seeking any resources of folks who have done this or know of anyone who I might be able to connect with to learn about their experiences, or who is in the process of building that I might be able to assist, etc. Thanks! Deb
Hoping everyone is coping well with the pandemic. Keeping up with the new recommendations and finding ways to stay sane. My daughter & I did some work on our kitchen. I planted some seeds - peas, lettuce, savoy cabbage & kale - some indoors some out. I've heard some people advocate for early planting, but the pro's I've heard discuss it say you lose a lot of seed that way. Anyone else tried it?
We're looking for a puppy -- if anyone knows of a local (or even not-so-local) litter of pups please let me know. Ideally medium sized, short haired, but everything is negotiable. Just a friendly family dog. We've got a little homestead, fenced yard, a very enthusiastic son (13 yo). Thanks.
