Details

Permaculture (from permanent agriculture, as well as permanent culture) is an approach to designing food producing and human supporting systems in sustainable, ecological and regenerative ways, mimicking natural systems. Come learn more about the theory and practice and connect with others who share the goal of responsible, sustainable living.

For this workshop Amy will talk about the principles of permaculture and show examples to illustrate how they can be applied. There will be lots of photos, discussion, and time outside to look at already implemented techniques and envision other possibilities. Some of what we can look at on her property include: sheet mulched gardens, swales, building with scavenged materials, early stage forest gardening, water held in the landscape, animals in a permaculture setting.

We are gearing this class towards those new to the permaculture concept, but it will also be great for those who want more grounding in the theory and principles of permaculture.

This class will be taught be Amy Antonucci, certified permaculture designer and co-organizer of the Greater Seacoast Permaculture Meetup Group. Amy is also a beekeeper, chicken & duck keeper, goat-herd, student of herbal medicine, and worked in organic agriculture for over ten years. She has spoken at libraries, schools, garden clubs, at the NOFA-NH winter conference, and been interviewed on the radio.

Please bring outdoor gear appropriate to the weather.

The cost for this event is $10-25 per person. Deposit of $5 required to hold your space!
