How did you learn about the concept of permaculture?

When I lived in Virginia, I was involved with several community living groups. They shared land, gardens, chickens, goats, even kids. Many lived without running water or electricity. I learned what a real "ice box" was, ways to conserve resources, and work together- the whole was bigger that the individuals could be themselves.

How did you find out about this group?

I found out about this group from a communication to my ukulele group by Bucky Bacaw. I never imagined that chickens and ukuleles would mesh so well.

What do you hope to learn from this group?

I would like to share my knowledge of chickens and playing the ukulele. I bet you folks know many little tricks for living cleanly and with little impact on the earth. we now use the water collected by our dehumidifiers to flush toilets. We need the dehumidifiers to keep mold from growing in our basement, then the water gets a use of its own. I am sure you can help me will help with slm

Do you have skills you would like to share/teach here?

I would be glad to share any information about chickens and first aid and common medical problems that can be treated by you at home. Any one interested can contact me. I am also available for consults, I do not charge money for my services but I love to barter, I am disabled so anytime I can get some help pruning fruit trees, or transplanting stuff...weeding, canned vegetables, dried herbs, eggs,,, mostly anything I can use goes. It is a big treat for me. I would be happy to have a ukulele class if anyone would like to learn more about the happiest instrument ever, This could be in a group or one on one, I also juggle if anyone is inclined to learn, you might be surprised how easy it is, I have taught juggling workshops. So chicken medicine, ukulele , juggling is an unlikely skill set but it is mine.

Introduction

I am a mostly retired veterinarian. I kept chickens for over 20 years and saw them as patients in my vet practice. I also happen to play the ukulele,
