What experience do you have with live performances?

I have mostly played with friends but I have played the odd open mike and performed at a small coffee house in grad school. I also sang in church choirs as a kid but have avoided this sort of choir since (bad memories of being made to do it).

What genre of music best describes your style. Do you have any links to your music online? If so, post them here.

I do not. I should do that, I guess.

Are you a singer, and if so, are you able to harmonize?

I can harmonize a bit...depends on the song.

What is your purpose in joining the group? What are you hoping to get out of it?

I love to play music with people...I am hoping there are good jam sessions, good chances to sing, and good chances to hear other peoples' music.

What equipment/gear (if any) do you have?

a seagull acoustic guitar (made in Canada....used to live there).

I have recently moved to Seattle. I am a USGS scientist and oceanographer based at UW. I play acoustic guitar and have written a handful of my own songs. I also sing...I harmonize a bit. I would characterize my own songs as "folky"/folk-rock.
