An estimated 185+ million people will take dietary supplements in the US this year. This meetup is a group for people who take supplements for wellness, performance and/or longevity --- take a LOT of supplements, like dosing more than 10 each day, and sometimes even more than that. Dietary supplements can provide powerful effects in the human body, but medical doctors are generally not trained in their use. In this age of western medicine, many of us are seeking more natural solutions for our health and well-being and supplements can be a way to achieve this.
Here in Seattle, we are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing resources for health such as Bastyr University, The Center for Functional Medicine, the University of Washington Nutritional Sciences program and Bulletproof bio-hacking. There are a lot of considerations, such as the various purposes that a single supplement may be used for, how to take supplements for maximum effectiveness, how to consume ingredients safely.
Looking forward to meeting like-minded people concerned with using dietary supplements to address specific health concerns, to hack their genome to enhance mental and physical performance, and for life extension with vitality. We'll be meeting at The Riveter on Capitol Hill https://theriveter.co/upcoming-events/ but I've not set the first date yet. I'm starting this meetup to assess interest in this idea and to hear from people about when is good for you to meet. Can't wait to get started!
