Beg/Int Dance Lessons (Blues, Tango, NC2S)

Join us for our fabulous Fall Classes (2014)

FOUR TUESDAY's:  BEG/INT LEVEL (Sept 16th - Oct 7th)  All classes are held at China Harbor (See directions below)

•  6:30-7:30pm: An Introduction to "Swing-Fox-Blues" Fusion:  Learn the basics of this very expressive, versatile, musical dance form  based in the roots of American jazz that will become the foundation to every other dance style you will learn. Perfect for both beginning dancers or for more experienced dancers who want to work on fine-tuning their partnering, connection, and musicality skill. (Level: Beg/Int) All welcome - No Partner Needed.

•  7:30-8:30: "Tango'd up in Blues!"  - Blues and Argentine Tango, though completely different dances, share many overlapping features and are often seen danced together at late night parties or socials. While tango is the more difficult dance to master, blues provides the perfect entry level for learning the foundations of both dances because, like tango, it emphasizes and builds upon connection to your partner; it employs playful, sophisticated footwork that can crossover to either dance; it utilizes beautifully expressive slow & sultry music as a backdrop for dancers to innovate; and it is generally much more relaxed & forgiving to do. This class is the perfect introduction to the world of Tango-Blues fusion, with a focus on tango movements (ochos, ganchos, boleos, etc) that can easily be applied to blues music and styling!  Perfect to take in conjunction with the 6:30 blues class (Level: Beg/Int) (All welcome - No Partner Needed)

•  8:30-9:30: "Night Club 2-Step I: Foundations" - Learn the foundations of this beautiful, flowing, & elegant dance style, starting with the basics, then quickly moving on to the six essential turning steps, peak-a-boos, mix-masters, and even more fun conbo's & variations from Ari's repertoire of fun, original moves. Perfect for beg/int level dancers or for more int/adv dancers who want to review the essentials. CLICK HERE to see an example of NC2S. (Level: Beg/Int) All welcome - No partner needed.

•  9:30-9:55:  Guided Practice for class participants

Argg...unplanned work commitment until 10 pm tonight, otherwise would have loved to have gone. But looking at the list, I was the only one...not sure if it would have gone on still? Will see what works later this week and next.
