Saturday Morning Rise & Shine Run!

We'll be meeting at 7am in the center of the parking lot next to the bathhouse theater. Our goal is to have something for everyone whether you are just starting out or training for a big race. Walkers, joggers and runners are welcome to join on in. We typically try and do longer runs on Saturday mornings, so whatever might be considered a long run for you, our goal would be to build on that distance over time. We have a variety of runners and would have to say that we have a great collection of folks that make running together a lot of fun and very rewarding. Please give Saturday mornings a try!

    Thank you all for coming out today. I hope everyone had a good run and enjoyed the field trip down to Lake Union. Pretty amazing how many miles everyone is putting in on a Saturday morning. We'll be up to 12 miles next weekend for the last big hurdle before the Biggest Loser Half Marathon. Get those RSVP's in and come on out and join us for some more fun. Have a great rest of the weekend and will see you all at the track on Monday morning. :-)

    Looks like we have miraculously assembled a pretty awesome group of runners for this mornings runs! Be sure to look over the route that you plan on running in the morning and have an idea of a goal pace as well. Once you arrive you can find your distance group and see who else is running your pace. There will be distance leaders in each distance pack and they can help with creating little pace groups within each of the distance groups as well.

      Just a reminder for this Saturday our 6 mile and 8 mile folks will be meeting us down at Gas Works and running around Lake Union with the group once they have made it down from Green Lake. Here is a look at when you can expect the groups to arrived based on their pace:

      7:30 min pace = 7:38am
      8:00 min pace = 7:39am
      8:30 min pace = 7:40am
      9:00 min pace = 7:42am
      9:30 min pace = 7:43am
      10:00 min pace = 7:45am
      10:30 min pace = 7:46am
      11:00 min pace = 7:48am
      11:30 min pace = 7:49am

      Wait for your pace group to arrive and then jump in for a fun group run around Lake Union. Keep an eye on the comments as folks are also making arrangements to carpool down to Gas Works from the Bathhouse Theater. :-)

    This sickness is really beating me and my energy level down. Resting more for Portland. Maybe I'll run later in the day, or maybe Sunday but I think for tomorrow morning I need to sleep until my body says it's time to wake up. I'm really bummed to miss so many runs with my buddies! :(

      I tried out the route this morning and realize that there are a few options on getting back up to the BHT. Option 1- Stone, option 2- Fremont, option 3- Wallingford. I did option 2 this morning and it was killer tough. They should all get you around the same distance, but always nice to have options. ;-)

    Are you running 6-8 miles this week? Meet us down along the Burke Gilman in front of Gas Works Park. The group will be running down from Green Lake and will scoop you up for a lap around Lake Union.

    What time should you arrive? It depends on how fast you want to run. Here is the estimated arrival of the various pace groups on Saturday morning:

    Think I'm healed! PT has done wonders for my achilles injury and I highly recommend Virginia mason and dr. Reeves. I'm just getting back in but I think I'm ready for 5, maybe 6 miles at about a 945 pace. Slow and steady.

      Rena, how would you feel about heading down to gass works and doing a lap around lake union with the other 6ers, 8's, 10's and 11+ folks? It is 3 miles from the bathhouse theater down to gas works and there will be a crowd heading down to wait along the Burke for the folks from the lake to arrive and do a lap around Lake Union (6 miles).
