Saturday Morning Rise & Shine Run!

We'll be meeting at 7am in the center of the parking lot next to the bathhouse theater. Our goal is to have something for everyone whether you are just starting out or training for a big race. Walkers, joggers and runners are welcome to join on in. We typically try and do longer runs on Saturday mornings, so whatever might be considered a long run for you, our goal would be to build on that distance over time. We have a variety of runners and would have to say that we have a great collection of folks that make running together a lot of fun and very rewarding. We meet gather into distance groups at 7am and try to match people up by pace and are off and running by 7:15am!

It was good to see the group running again and hear from Loka some of the goings-on including folks running CIM. I had a good run. A friend met up with me and we ran 8 miles around the lake. Even felt some sunshine!

If I run 10 miles it is because I want to visit Queen Anne.

Depending on how I fee in the am, I will probably only do at most 6 miles. I just don't think I have 10 miles in me right now.

Wow! We are nearing 100! That's fun! Don't forget to look for the routes posted below so you can help your friends to not get lost. Plan on arriving around 6:55am to find your distance group and meet someone new. We'll make a few announcements and be off and running by 7:10am. See you all bright and early!

    Hi there,
I am just starting out. I'm coming back from an ankle injury that made me very sedentary, and so I can only run about a minute or two at a time right now. My goal is to be able to run the whole way around the lake by spring time (so I can be in great shape for hiking.) Is this really for people of all levels?

    4 · November 28

    • amelia

Thank you guys so much for your kindness! I appreciate the support. It's very motivating :) Unfortunately, with the forced lack of activity lifestyle I also gained about 10 pounds, so I think that is also slowing me down. I think that couch to 5k plan was a great suggestion. It will really help me ease back into things. Do you all ever meet up after the run, or run other days as well?

    • Loka M.

Running is one of those great adventures and as long as you are patient and embrace the process it will take you further than you thought. It requires patience, comsistency and goals to keep you moving forward. Revolution is the coffee shop that some folks go to after the run. Everyone is welcome!

I hope to join you for the first time in over a year for a lake lap.

I have been running on my own for focus and minimize distractions after recovering from a jaw fracture sustained falling on my face while running. What a wake-up call!

Long story short: lack of sufficient dynamic balance while on one foot and turning my head to look for traffic (or just look around) was my Achilles heel. Take heed, aging runners! Now I work on balance daily AND keep my head pointed straight ahead while running. I stop and walk at all street crossings.

      Welcome back Teresa!

Welcome back, and thanks for the warning. Intersections are where a lot of running injuries can happen. I am trying to be extra careful during this time of the year with reduced visibility.

Alright! Let's start a little momentum early in the week! How far is everyone running on Saturday and do you have a goal pace in mind? For those of you that post below your courage will be laying the foundation on what Saturday's run will look like as far as the distances we map and who will RSVP to run with us. When others see they have someone else running their pace it magically motivates them to show up too!
