*** For August 14th only, we're moving the Meetup location of the Wednesday Night Run to go on a field trip in Ballard. ***
Instead of meeting at the Brooks Trailhead like usual, we're meeting this time at the Ballard Homestead (6541 Jones Ave NW, which is just northeast of 65th Street & 24th Ave in Ballard).
Why? The Seattle Green Lake Running Group is hosting a dinner and talk with Ryan Hall, who holds the U.S. record for the half-marathon and finished 10th in the marathon at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
The dinner and talk begin at 6:30pm at the Ballard Homestead, so to make it convenient for those of us who want to attend both the run and the dinner, we're moving the run. Details about the dinner and talk can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/447465422741971/
We'll run a 4.5 mile route through Shilshole Marina and Golden Gardens. All paces are welcome! Hosts Patrick, Yao, Chris, and Denise will provide mini route maps and always make sure that everyone arrives safely back to port. If you're looking for something a little shorter, just ask us for some shortcut suggestions.
Despite what you see in the RSVP list, we typically have 15-30 runners each week. Newbies are always welcome, as are any out-of-town runners looking for a fun group of runners!
We'll start meeting up at the Ballard Homestead at 5:15pm, and at 5:30pm, we have introductions, describe the route, take a group photo, and head out. We'll plan a photo stop about halfway, where we regroup.
Every week, no matter what, we always hang out and socialize afterward. Usually, this is at Fremont Brewing, but this time you'll have the option for the dinner & talk with Ryan Hall, or if you want to skip that, I suspect a few of us will head over to Olaf's neighborhood pub.
