How long have you been running and are there items still on your bucket list that you are motivated to accomplish?

This round, almost 4 years. Dad. Log a marathon with Dad every year; his spirit runs.

How did your 2016 go as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

Ahoy! Ragnar NW Passage SGLRG "Kraken Community" grew! We sailed two vessels - "Kaiser Kraken" & "Mermaid Kraken". 2nd place in mixed division - Kaiser Kraken. Top 15% - Mermaid Kraken. Collective goal - bonding; community formed. In addition, 2013 Portland Marathon was special; chatted it up with the Warhorse Bill Rogers, aka "Boston Billy". Unreal outlook on life, jovial and chatty, loves people; ran his reign in "gardening gloves". Scarves UP to "Boston Billy"!

What is your plan for 2017? Any races on the calendar for you? Do you have any big goals?

Run with my roots; while remembering the last great prairie. Log Feb Orcas Island 50K. Early phase. Log season ending "Boston qualifying" (BQ) run. Hope!

How many days a week do you typically run? What time of the day do you run?

Anytime, enjoy running around Seattle's maritime sites. I'm the running / maritime "Skipper" for the Wednesday evening pod. We run & do yoga; beautiful combo; helpful for preventing injuries; and smiling through life.

How can we best support you and your running goals?

Injury-free year - through yoga and nutrition. Encouragement; thanks!


Survived 2016 Orcas Island 50K & 2015 Gorge Waterfalls 50K; epic journeys. And 4 marathons from 2011 to 2015. Bald eagle memory during 2011, mile 10; unreal moment. Patiently hunting for a meal - a few runners going hard, preparing to drop and die.
