How long have you been running and do you have any bucket list goals you are motivated to accomplish?

I have been running for a some time but got more competitive the last few years. I want to challenge myself every year and learn something new. This year I want to see how I can manage to run a half marathon after a 1.2 miles swim and a 56 mile bike ride.

How did your 2017 go as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

I started off while recovering from shin splits and changed my running style which made me end up with Achilles tendinitis. I managed to recover and get ready for the NYC Marathon and finishing under 3h.

Do you have any running goals for this year? Any races on the calendar for you?

This year I tackle a new challenge and participate in a half ironman at the end of July. Leading up to that I will be running some local races to get me ready for the race in July.

What’s the best way to get you to show up for one of our group runs?

On average 3 times a week and mostly in the mornings when the family is still asleep.

We’d like nothing more than to have you joining us for runs. How can we best support you in helping you get the most out of running?

Training for a big race is demanding and needs a lot of motivation. Trying to hit your workout goals by yourself is hard. Having friends to run with keeps me motivated and having competitive people makes it easier to hit my workout goals. Thank you SGLRG for providing the platform that supports me to reach my goals.

My father used to say: “Sport kills”. What it kills is a bad mood, stress and inactivity. Running is a particular great sport. Easy to challenge yourself, set clear goals and perfect to experience with friends. Most of all it makes you feel alive!
