Introduction

I co-host the SGLRG run on Wednesday nights! I love maps! I'm a competitive navigation runner that's very active in the local and regional orienteering and adventure running scene. I'm originally from Kansas, and have lived in Seattle since 2005.

How long have you been running and do you have any bucket list goals you are motivated to accomplish?

I've been orienteering and navigation racing since 2004. I started coming to SGLRG running events in 2013, but I didn't run more regularly until the start of the Wednesday Night Run in November 2014.

How did your 2018 go as far as running? Any highlights that you'd like to share?

2016 was a great year! I ran my second Ragnar Relay with the SGLRG Kraken teams. On the orienteering side, I won 3 gold medals at the US Champs (in California in March), and 1 gold and 2 bronze medals at the North American Champs (in New Hampshire in September). (These were age group medals in Men's 35-39.)

Do you have any running goals for this year? Any races on the calendar for you?

I plan to compete in the usual collection of local and regional orienteering races. The one big goal event is US Champs (in Idaho in June).

What’s the best way to get you to show up for one of our group runs?

I'm generally an afternoon/evening runner. With SGLRG, I run almost every Wednesday Night, I try to attend the Sunday Trail runs when I don't have a race, and you'll see me occasionally at the Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Night runs.
