I'm interested in doing an open source project with your help. My goal is to pay for your time by running a IndieGoGo/Kickstarter campaign.
Currently I'm the president of my home-brew club and work for a open source hardware company in WA called Pogo Linux. I often help with beer festivals and have a class 12 license to pour for breweries and stand behind the table with the jockey box pouring all day and sometimes night :)
My goal is to work with the home-brew and professional brewmaster community, mongoDB user group, node.js user group, and some great app developers to create a tool that the breweries, home-brew clubs and hobbyists can use for free at beer festivals and such to create a new experience for the festival goers!
There have been some great groups that have started the momentum and I'd like to help fund the progress to a completed project that allows the brewmasters to move from the back of the table to the front at a festival and allow them to interact with the fans of their beer instead of being tied down to the jockey box handle! The app will allow users to choose what beer they want and it will pour 4 0z. into a tasting cup. I'd like to try and get the festival goers signed up with a RFID device so they can automatically be checked into
www.Untappd.com and the database would be updated with how much beer each user has selected along with how much beer is left in the keg notifying the brewmaster when the keg is about to be tapped.
Ambitious goals but the community has done some great work so far and I'd like to contribute by unifying the teams that could help revolutionize the festival experience! I'll work with the breweries in WA state to create some compelling video content as well and I'd like the application to unlock videos that will be pre-recorded and displayed above the beer stations on large indoor/outdoor displays at the festival. The goal is to bring technology to the festival in a way that has not been seen before. I'm working with an application developer that does augmented reality and our goal is to have a 3D display of the brewing process displayed at each station as well.
The kickstarter goal would be to have 10 tiers from people that just want to help make this a reality all the way up to shipping 5 fully functional systems with the application anywhere in the world.
Can we setup a call to discuss the step's to make that happen?
My goal is to follow the lead of these groups and potentially hire them to help me complete the project.
