Dragon Boating for Beginners
No experience required. Club SAKE is a friendly team of women and men. We can show you the ropes on how to paddle and make sure you have an awesome time doing it! NOTE: Before you come, please be sure to complete the liability waiver at or Under "Membership" choose "Visitor" and for "Team" choose "Club SAKE". Your first three visits are FREE! Dragon Boating is a fun sport that is easy to learn and hard to master. And it's a great way to compete, develop close friendships, and get a workout on the most beautiful lake around! We paddle rain or shine, so dress for the weather (avoid cotton), and BRING A WATER BOTTLE to stay hydrated. On chilly or rainy days, rain pants and rain jackets can keep you comfy but on a warm day you'll work up a sweat! Wear shoes or sandals that can get wet and leave backpacks at home. We will have a dry bag for cell phones and keys. Arrive by 11:15am to stretch and get instructions before we get on the water. We provide PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) and paddles, and teach technique. No experience required - just energy and enthusiasm. Register with a friend or come alone. You will leave with new friends and a great experience!
