Sarcoma Meetups are informal support group meetings for anyone affected by sarcoma cancers. We welcome all and focus our support toward families facing sarcoma cancers, which are rare, aggressive, and isolating.
Our meetings center around introducing individuals, sharing stories, making friends, and getting support so that we can END SARCOMA! Whether you have been recently diagnosed, are undergoing treatment, in recovery, supporting a sarcoma patient, a survivor, or remembering a loved one, we consider you a Dragonslayer and we invite you to join us!
These meetups are organized by staff at the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation, which provides financial assistance grants and funds sarcoma research. We’re not medical professionals, nor are we a formal support group. Rather, we focus on peer relationship building and the power of community to overcome challenges.
More About Us...
For many, a diagnosis of rare cancer can feel isolating. It’s hard to find others in a similar situation to ask questions. That’s why we started our monthly meetups so that no one facing sarcoma need go it alone.
Our largest events of the year are Dragonslayer Walks to End Sarcoma, which takes place in Seattle and Portland annually. Dragonslayer events unite more than 2,000 people affected by sarcoma and raises funds to support our community and advance treatment science.
