Script Reading 76 at Adam's in Fremont
Okay, this time of year it'll probably be dark out so this view is a lie, but like most film it's a beautiful lie? IMPORTANT NOTE!! Meeting at my Fremont house-sit house this time. Please feel free to bring your own food/beverages or some to share. Parking's easy, the 5 bus is very close, the 44 is a few blocks further. If you need a ride, please speak up and someone might be able to help! You're welcome to arrive at 6:45 or so (probably a notch earlier but please text to confirm; 206 240-1279). We'll read and critique about 6-10 pages of each others' work. How do you get *your* work considered? Read on! To get your piece the agenda, post in the thread below with the title, form (feature, short, pilot, etc.), and genre. Please check out the About Us page if you are new or unclear on how we work. Priority for work review slots goes to those who've attended before and helped provide input to others (sometimes we have room for work from first-time attendees). Bring copies for each person or at least enough to share. Also, take a moment to sign up for http://www.collabowrite.us - it's how we share scripts outside of the meeting privately, now that Meetup has removed its file sharing component. If you want to post your work there and point us to it ahead of time, feel free. Thanks and see you there! - Adam

What we're about

Public Group

This group is for anyone working on a screenplay. We are focused on the work itself, not the final film or the sales process.

This is a lab for writing, which means caring about character and plot.

Work in all forms is eligible for sharing, from the kernel of an idea to a polished draft.

Our standard meeting features readings with time for questions and feedback; generally not more than three pieces per meeting. You do not need to share writing in order to attend.

Post in the meeting thread to get on the agenda. Tell us what you are sharing and what medium (feature film, TV series, animated short, etc.) and genre (comedy, drama, sci-fi etc.) your piece belongs in. Bring copies of your work (up to ten pages, less is usually enough and in fact better) for everyone to read from. You are encouraged to bring or post online a synopsis for critique or to supplement your script.

Writers need to hear the results of their labors, so the group will generally read your work aloud. You will receive 30- 60 minutes of attention, so use your time wisely.

To share scripts online we use Collabowrite (http://www.collabowrite.us/). We also have a backup file sharing folder is through here (https://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Screenwriters/pages/22316554/File_Sharing/). Only members may access these spaces.

Do you want feedback on a complete script, or other work in excess of ten pages? Please post work online, and let people know with a list serve email or note in the Message Board (https://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Screenwriters/messages/boards/). Members can contact a host about a separate, full script reading or schedule one themselves using the home page.

Leave feedback for others online on the Message Board (https://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Screenwriters/messages/boards/), as well.

Looking for collaborators or writers for your project? Contact the group via email, post, or come to meetings.

Have another question or request? Post in the Discussion section, in a Meeting thread, or contact an organizer or host directly.

A $5 annual membership fee pays for the website.

Thanks, and best wishes with your work.
