We will take this opportunity to paddle the Wildlife Area and check out all the birds. I have paddled this extensively and it is a wonderful and sheltered area to paddle. We will not be going far out into the delta and the tide is a very low exchange only going down to 4-5 feet so there should be plenty of water for us. And the paddle back up the river to the dock should not to to taxing as we will try to go back around 3 to take advantage of the riding tide.

PLUS - We will have the Bird Lady (Phyllis) with us so we know what we are seeing. Also see can pick up plants for us to munch on :)

You will need to have your own equipment for this paddle. Boat, paddles, PFD, and all necessary clothing and gear. You need to dress warmly and for immersion. Please bring an extra set of clothing.

We will meet in the parking lot and try to get on the water by 10am and paddle the delta wandering in all the slews, taking a stop for food so bring something to eat and maybe a warm drink.

Let's get off the water by 4 pm and maybe stop for dinner on the way home.

Take Interstate 5 to Exit 221, just south of Mount Vernon in Skagit County. Go west from the freeway and turn right on to Fir Island Road, following the sign for Conway/La Conner. In 1.8 miles, turn left onto Wylie Road and follow for 1 mile to a T-intersection and a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife sign. Turn left and follow the signs to either of the two parking lots.

Parking/Restroom Information
There are two parking areas, each with a restroom facility. A Discover Pass or
Vehicle Access Pass is REQUIRED on ALL WDFW Lands.

Failure to have a completely filled out profile will cause you to be dropped from the paddle.

AND AS USUAL - All my paddles are one strike you're out... I will monitor the site up to 3 hours before we launch for cancellations. (for this paddle the cut off will be Wednesday before the paddle unless an emergency happens) But if we launch and I haven't heard from you that is a no show and you will no longer be welcome on my trips. Please don't sign up unless you really think you can attend. It isn't fair for the other paddlers. As usual, I will manage the trip numbers based on extra organizers and the paddle experience of the people who sign up. So jump on the waiting list because I frequently up the attendees. Thanks.
