New Meetup: Wildcat Cove to Chuckanut Bay

Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Area Sea Kayaking Meetup Group!

What: Wildcat Cove to Chuckanut Bay

When: Saturday, October 23,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Larabee State Park
245 Chuckanut Drive
Bellingham, WA 98229

I know it's a drive, but this was a really nice paddle! I paddled from Wildcat Cove just north of Larrabee State Park, along the coastline until I was due east of Chuckanut Island in the middle of Chuckanut Bay. There was alot of wildlife including tens of thousands of starfish (pics), Herons (pics), Rock Crab (pics), a Harbor Porpoise, and a curious Seal (pics). The shore is sandstone rock which is carved out in some very cool shapes and covered with large starfish. Bring your sculling draw to get close! Even the drive up highway 11 (aka Chuckanut Drive) is outstanding. Boundry Bay brewery is just a few miles up the road too :)

hope this link works...
