Great first adventure!

Hi SASKers,
Hey, we had a great time in Saul's first official meetup as organizer. The skies were threatening so hardly any power boats were out, but the rain never came and the water was really calm so we had a great paddle down the slough with friends new and old. Afterwards Saul grilled up some salmon, corn, eggplant, and vegetables to go with caprese salad, green salad, appetizers and libations others brought to satiate our paddle battled palates. We even toasted some champagne - and all this on a school night! Check out the photos and captions at
Of course, we couldn't just let you enjoy the evening. Going way back, Saul and I felt we had to prove to you all that boys will be boys and commit not one, but two reply all faux pas just to add levity to your boring Tuesday work day. We hope that you've picked yourself up off the floor from laughing and are ready to harass us at the next MU. Seriously, I take full responsibility for the act and have apologized profusely to our friends who may have been embarrased. They were very mature, showing grace that it was taken out of context, and accepted our apologies. I want to formally apologize to anyone else who may have been offended and welcome you to contact me or Saul personally to further discuss. Also, MU corporate has been responsive to a bug report I filed earlier so I filed a new one for the confusion about replying all to the group. My fingers are crossed that they will make it more clear to whom we are replying. In the meantime, recall that the original subject was simply to add gloves to the list of items to bring. Well, Saul and I have added thumbless mittens to the post paddle list for Y chromosome organizers.
Our intentions for this group are to get people out to paddle and enjoy this great area in which we are blessed to live. If anyone at any time does not feel like they're not having a 5 star experience, please let any of the organizers know. Saul already has several more diverse MUs (different places, techniques, overnighters, etc) planned and some other organizers are stepping up as well. Now that it looks like summer is back we look forward to your ideas and to seeing you out there!
