You may have heard of this amazing permaculture technique for creating a raised bed without using dimensional lumber. By taking a mound (or berm) of rotting wood and sticks and adding manure, leaves, straw, compost, topsoil or any other organic material you have, you can create a growing bed that will be self-watering, self-fertilizing, self-heating, and give you more square footage for planting in than when you started with flat ground! For those of you who have limited in-city garden space this technique can really come in handy to increase your food production areas. Please come dressed to work in the weather: bring work gloves, a shovel if you have one, and let's get dirty together!
Please read the address carefully: it's S. 172nd PLACE, not Street. Also be aware that there is a major detour around Military Road at this time. Google maps will get you there correctly at this time.
