Hi all,
Hope you are doing well! Please mark your calendars and distribute this information to any Bothell chicken owners!

Our issue has made it to the Planning Commission and has been assigned to Bruce Blackburn, senior planner. We have a great opportunity to work with him on this process. The Planning Commission serves as an advisory board to the City Council, and it is likely the the Council will follow the Planning Commission's recommendation, including their proposed code language.

Ways to participate:
Plan to attend BOTH of the Planning Commission meetings (see details below) to show our numbers and support for raising the chicken limit. Bring your spouses, children, and friends! Be ready to interact with the Planning Commission members about this issue.

Wednesday, July 17, 2013, Planning Commission Meeting, starting time 7:00 p.m.
Bothell Municipal Court Building, 10116 NE 183rd Street
Study session on proposed Code amendments regarding the keeping of fowl in residential zones.
A group of Bothell citizens requested this proposed Code amendment in person at the Council public hearing on the 2013 Docket on February 19, 2013. The proposed Code amendment would permit more fowl in residential zones than are currently permitted under BMC 12.06.140(B)(2). Currently the Code permits “Three or fewer adult fowl per dwelling unit” to be kept in residentially zoned areas (i.e. R 40,000 through R-AC zones).
