What we're about
If you're looking for a group of watercolor painters to join each week for painting as well as sharing ideas and critiques, you're in the right place! Fridays, indoors, we paint still life scenes, share reference photos, and/or work on our own independent projects. Thursdays we paint outdoors.
This group is open to watercolorists at all levels. It's not a class. To participate, you need to bring your own paints, brushes, paper, and water container. For a list of recommended materials, please see this discussion: http://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Watercolor-Meetup-Group/messages/boards/thread/19243992/#63683132 . For links to useful information on watercolor painting, see Watercolor Resources (http://meganseagren.blogspot.com/2011/04/watercolor-resources.html).
We meet every Friday afternoon at the Loyal Heights Community Center in Ballard. They charge a $3 drop-in fee, which you pay when you check in at the front desk. We use watercolors only for this session.
Thursdays we meet outdoors, picking a different place to paint each week. During the winter months, many meetups will be indoors or under shelter. A particular Thursday meetup may be cancelled if we can't find an appropriate venue or not enough people sign up, so be sure to double check the meetup site for any updates beforehand. The outdoor meetups (only) are open to all types of media.
