• Broadcaster Roundtable - Hosted by VREAL

The SOBA Roundtable is a guided discussion forum meant for members of our community to have more in-depth, personal conversations about topics that matter to them. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and organized environment for moderated discussion. Facilitating a professional atmosphere can help people express their thoughts in a manner better-suited for exchanging ideas. Our hope is that sharing knowledge will help participants grow and provide insight for ways SOBA can continue to help members succeed. Understand that these Roundtables are limited by the experience, strengths, and hopes of the dialogues brought to them. What topics are brought up, engaged with, and learned are up to the curiosity and ambitious of its attendees. This event starts at 6 PM, but official roundtable discussions begin at 6:30. Food will be provided. ================ Theme: Community ================ SOBA is entering its fourth year as a community and we believe this is a prime time to explore that very topic. As we enter another month of dialogue, let’s explore community as a community! With the industries and spaces we occupy, we are either directly or indirectly responsible for crafting and managing our communities. Why do we seek communities? What are we doing to find them? How do we know communities are working? Alongside these dialogues, let’s also use this as an opportunity to discuss this community. How has SOBA affected you? What’s working for you and what isn’t? Don’t just lend us your voices and thoughts, come and join us in crafting and supporting the future of this community. Let’s not only continue to foster a supportive and empowering community, but challenge how we do it. ======== Agenda ======== The event will begin with a short introduction on the goal and premise of the event, along with a shoutout to VREAL for hosting us. A brainstorming session will begin as members come to the venue, as they are to write topics on notecards and then as a group put tallies on the topics, to help highlight topics that many members would like to discuss. The votes and topics will be posted on a wall or somewhere with good visibility for the groups or facilitators. The Roundtable will break out into 2 discussion sessions with a 15-minute break at the middle and a collaboration/debrief at the end. Groups will be broken up, hopefully six or fewer per group, or simply manageable levels for the group members and facilitators to encourage and harbor group discussion about the themes and branch out topics. Alterations will be made to accommodate conversations and number of attendees. ================== Location & Parking ==================[masked]th Ave #1710 · Seattle, WA Please contact Thai Nguyen via Discord (Temp[awareness]) or here on Meetup to be let into the building. VREAL is right by the University Street tunnel station in downtown Seattle inside the Financial Center Skyscraper. Once you enter the lobby, someone from VREAL will have a key card that will give you access to the 17th floor.

In our industry content continues to be diverse and complex even if our platforms or mediums are similar. Being a content creator is often not as straightforward as picking up a popular game and people watching you, so being critical and growing that skill is valuable mindset to develop. With such a diverse community, we look forward to engaging each other and workshopping what content means for you and how you develop your content. Whether your medium is scary games, competitive esports, speed running, casual, cooking, DnD, music, etc. To cite the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai developing a reason for being that includes what you love, what you’re good at, what the world wants, and what you can be paid for is a journey and life skill. With PAX wrapped up and Twitchcon upcoming we believe this would be a great opportunity to expand our current skills and ideas on Networking, and be critical of how we have networked in the past. What was effect of handing out business cards and what could we improve on to ensure future engagement, what engagement are we looking for. Who am I speaking for and what do I want people hear when I am networking with people. When Networking what am I looking for and what do I want out of the people I am networking with. Networking is a essential tool in our kits, so join us in engaging a dialogue on expanding and redefining what Networking means to you and each other. ======== Agenda ======== The event will begin with a short introduction on the goal and premise of the event, alongside a shoutout to Vreal for hosting us(if Vreal staff would like to take the floor to tell our members about your company and mission we would love to handover the mic). • Breach Ice Cream Social, Hosted by En Masse Entertainment

    En Masse Entertainment

************ What's Up? ************ Our partners at En Masse Entertainment are throwing an ice cream social to celebrate the announcement of Breach, and give any interested SOBA members an early hands-on. Join us for an exclusive sneak peek at Breach, and to get your hands on your own alpha code, some ice cream, and a chance to relax at the end of a long PAX weekend. This is a LIMITED RSVP event. If you can't make it or are unsure if you can make it, please wait to RSVP until you can be sure of your attendance. RSVPs will be checked at the door. This event is also TIME LIMITED: We only have a hour, but that should be plenty of time to try the game, grab some ice cream, grab an alpha code, and sign up for a longer hands-on if you're interested. Please be sure to show up ON TIME for this event. ***************** What is Breach? ***************** Breach is a newly-announced game from some of your favorite ex-Bioware devs. It's hard to describe, but think of it as a dungeon-crawling, coop action RPG. If you want to find out more, check out the websites below: https://www.playbreach.com/ https://www.pcgamer.com/breach-game/
