Zombie Apocalypse Day

This event has outgrown its origninal venue and is now at the Ballard Community Center.

This is a kid friendly event discussing urban preparedness. So far I have several participants to give demos, sell products and answer important questions about surviving and sustaining.

Seattle Office of Emergency Management

SNAP (Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare)

The Red Cross

Seattle Fire Department

Z Ultimate Self Defense Studio (demos and booth)

Cascadia Edible Landscaping

Xfinity HOme Security

Parkour Visions

Shelf Reliance dried food storage and emergency kits

Beprepared.com emergency essentials

Puget Sound solar

Plus many more experts on what to do with your pets, urban farming, and much more.

Thanks for coming out. Vendors complimented the turn out. It was a learning process for me. This event was done completely for free.

Not bad for a first time event. Vendors were a little slim, but what was there, was good. Next year, there should be more. I wasn't much into the zombie stuff, but the prep, garden and local classes sounded pretty good!

A great first event , I wished the club had had a table setup so I could have stopped by and introduced myself. Kudos Jay!

Sounds great! The weather report says possible rain. Any chance of some sort of cover for everyone? I could lay out my vehicle gear inside as well, on a tarp.

I have a canopy that might fit. You will have a Booth next to the side doors where it will be parked.

I look forward to seeing you at this event. Please let me know that you are from Seattle Preppers. Please invite your neighbors because no urban prepardness strategy is complete if the community is not prepared. You don't want to be the only one on your block or in your building who has food. :)

Please connect on Facebook and share this event. I am organizing this with very little money and rely on social media and handing out flyers on the street and in Schools. Thanks

I am marketing this event to get a large turnout. BecauseI am not charging vendors or visitors, I am doing this on foot and through social networks. Can you please help spread the word. Along with all the above listed participants, Ron will have a bug out vehilce. Very excited to see this. Also if there is any Zombie Fans among us or anyone you know, the movie WARM BODIES is going to promo thier movie that is going to be released on FEB 1st. The trailer is hilarious. Check it out at the ZAD link. https://www.facebook.com/#!/BallardZombieApocalypseDay

If anyone would like a booth to share survivial skills, please let me know. I need more experts. It is free of course.

You should add this to the Meetup list on the Eastside Preppers page? I'm sure they would be interested in going. I've been spreading the word as much as I can.

Anyone is welcome to this event, but this is a community event. The reason is that urban survival depends on a community coming together to help each other out. I don't see any other way. The plan is to move Zombie Apocalypse Day to different communities around Seattle and the Puget Sound. The East side would be perfect. Along with local agencies, I have local businesses and local media as well

if it is "not at the Ballard Community Center." where are you planning to hold it?

    December 27, 2012

    • jay

It is at the Ballard Community center on January 27th from noon to 6. The old location was at Loyal Heights Elementary School, but has outgrown it.\
