What we’re about
If you're a mature but vibrant single adult and interested in boating and want to meet a great group of people, consider joining the Seattle Singles Yacht Club! We welcome all: experienced boat owners, both sail and power, people with boating experience but no boat, as well as those who may be new to boating. If you like to dance, that’s a plus because we also host a monthly dance on the second Monday of every month.
• SSYC is a non-profit boating club. We elect a slate of officers each year to serve on the board.
• SSYC meets each Monday, 7:30 pm except for announced holidays. We're getting back to monthly dances. Check out our website for details.
• Club skippers provide their boats for day trips and monthly overnight Club outings. The club itself owns no boats or property.
• Club skippers announce boat trips.
• Annual membership is $175 and includes access to all boating and social activities plus Monday night meetings and dances. Annual members also receive access to the "Members Only" section of our website.
• Social events include weekly Happy Hours, and other events sponsored by members.
• We have a major fundraising event for Northwest Harvest, a statewide hunger relief agency we've supported for over twenty-five years.
• In addition to Skippers, there are a number of ways for people without boats to be involved in SSYC.
• Volunteer opportunities include staffing the front desk on Mondays, organizing social activities, helping with the Northwest Harvest fundraiser, and becoming a Board Member.
• For those new to sailing, we offer sailing classes, which are also open to non-members.
