December 8 Thanksgiving serve details...

We've been telling our guests about the Thanksgiving meal for the past few weeks, and are hoping for a big turn-out.

We'll need volunteers that morning to cook, and also to hand out flyers to invite guests. There will be experienced volunteers on hand to show you what to do.

Please email debbi weston with your choice of kitchen only, kitchen and serve, or flyers and serve. You'll be given an arrival time and location.

Since the entire meal will be provided, we ask that if you are interested in contributing food that it be granola bars, cookies, or other packaged item.

Thank you!!!

Thank you all for being there on Sunday to show your act of kindness. Wonderful job on the holiday meal, many smiling folks, and most of all... awesome volunteers. We all made the homeless folks feel that there are people out there who care about them. It was greatly appreciated. Looking forward to see you again at a serve.

Thank you thank you to everyone who cooked, cleaned, served, sorted clothing, handed out toiletries, drove vehicles, made a donation, handed out flyers, and visited with our guests. Also thank you to our friend at Compass Center for donating and cooking the chicken. The guests were so appreciative of everyone's kindness and they loved the food. It was great to see so many smiling faces.

And thank you for your support, Chris D. A thoughtful man such as yourself knows that things don't always turn out the way you plan. Much the same as no one grows up planning to be homeless. The important thing was that we had a wonderful group of volunteers who made our guests' day better. : ) I look forward to seeing you all again. p.s. Thanks to those who have *liked* and *shared* my FB page THE REAL SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, which is all about supporting the homeless and raising awareness. The goal is 1,000 likes by the end of the year. We're on our way!

Debbi Weston, could you sent us all an email with the Sunday plans in case some volunteers are still able to help out? Thank you. If we don't have a response, it is possible that all the positions are filled and you can come and join us at the serve under the freeway from 1pm to 2pm (may last a little longer since there will be lots more folks coming out to the holiday serve). Thank you all for making time to come out and make a difference in our community. It is always appreciated.

I don't think I ever received details for tomorrow if my son and I are interested in cooking/serving what time should we be there. Is there any bad weather action plan or is this going on no matter what? Looking forward to it :)

Hi, can someone confirm the location and start time for folks doing prep and/or flyers? Is it 10am at Compass Kitchen? Thanks!

Looking forward to see you all and make this winter holiday a little warmer and special for the folks in need. Sleeping bags, backpacks, sport bags, blankets, canvas bags, or plastic shopping or garbage bags will help the folks carry their belongings around. Thank you all for your support and donations. It is very much appreciated by the homeless folks.
