Greetings!

This is a friendly reminder that your group is scheduled for a volunteer session next week at our Shoreline Volunteer Repack Center at 1702 NE 150th St in Shoreline, WA. DIRECTIONS

Session Date: March 17th

Session Time: 1-4pm

*Please arrive 5-10 minutes PRIOR to your session time.

What to wear…

We'd like to remind you that for safety reasons we do require all volunteers towear solid, closed toe shoes (no sandals, flip flops, slippers, Uggs, Crocs, etc.). Volunteers won't be allowed to participate without proper footwear! We also recommend that our volunteers dress in layers, as it can sometimes get chilly/hot in our warehouse. Other than that, just dress comfortably and with the knowledge that some of our projects can occasionally get a little messy and you will be standing for the duration of your project. We do have space to store jackets, hats, and other belongings, but we can't be responsible for any lost or stolen items. We encourage you to leave purses, backpacks and valuables in your vehicles.

Parking…

We typically have plenty of free parking near our facility. Duringbusiness hours please DO NOT park on the East side of our building across from the loading docks. These spaces are reserved for our trucks to access the warehouse. DO NOT park in the 3 spots in front of the Public Health Building.

When you arrive…

You will be directed to our conference room where your group will sign-in. It's important that your group arrive at the specified time so that we can have you sign-in, take a tour and get started right away. We want to utilize your volunteer time for the greatest impact and starting on time is key to making the most of your visit. Please ask your group to plan ahead with their travel and/or work schedules so that your group can arrive ON TIME. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start of the session may be asked to join us another time

Security…

Please let your volunteers know that for security reasons, after business hours and on weekends, we lock our front door 15 minutes after your scheduled session start time and the doorbell cannot be heard in the warehouse. If volunteers arrive more than 15 minutes past the session start time, they may not be able to join us. For extenuating circumstances such as weather or traffic issues we may extend this window but otherwise latecomers will be asked to join us at a future session.

What will we be doing?...

Our projects change from week to week, but we always find something great and rewarding for your group to work on, be it labeling packaged products, inspecting and sorting food donations, or repackaging bulk donated products. Regardless, it's always fun and gets thousands of pounds of food out to those in need.

Many of our projects include repeated lifting of 30-50 lbs and standing on cement floors for the duration of your session. We'll work to accommodate volunteers when possible but project selection is dictated by product availability and our partners' needs at that moment. We do not know project specifics until 24-48 hours before your session. Please explain to your volunteer group the physical nature and demands of this event so that they may choose to participate based on their own needs.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks so much, and we look forward to seeing you!
