WordPress Freelancers Meetup

Wallingford Good Shepherd Center

For the June Freelancer Meetup we'll have a very special guest. This one will fill up so register early and please update your RSVP if plans change. Robbin Block — Creative Marketing Strategist at Blockbeta Marketing https://www.blockbeta.com/ Robbin is a magician with small budgets, Robbin's creative, yet practical advice helps clients take the pain out of marketing decisions while increasing top line revenue. Robbin is the author of the Homepage Homeruns Workbook and Social Persuasion: Making Sense of Social Media for Small Business. She delivers popular presentations on SEO, ecommerce, website and digital marketing that she claims never put her audience to sleep. She’s also been a SCORE instructor and mentor since 2003. ******** Do you make your living using WordPress to create websites for other people’s businesses? This new Meetup is for you! We are not about themes or plugins, rather we'll talk about aspects of having a freelance business based in WP. We’ll discuss the successes and challenges of running a small business, share stories, ask questions, share tools & resources, brainstorm ideas and generally create community for those of us who typically work in isolation. We meet on the first Thursday of each month from 10-noon at the Wallingford Good Shepherd Center, Room 221. It’s not far from the freeway and has free parking. PS – Please note that this Meetup is specifically for those with a freelance business that relies on WordPress and not intended for those who have their business website made in WordPress. There are many other Meetups for WordPress users. Use this link to join the Seattle WP Slack Group (https://wpseattleslack.wordpress.com/) and then you can interact with the group in the Business Channel. We post all our Freelancer minutes on our website at: https://wpseattle.org/category/freelancers-meetup/ Please join our new FaceBook Group as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wpseattle

WordPress Contributor Meetup

Uptown Espresso

Come hang out with other WordPress users, designers and developers and contribute to the WordPress project. Note: this is not an educational meetup - it's about contributing. If you're looking to learn WordPress or get help with a project, check out another meeting on the Seattle WordPress Meetup calendar (http://www.meetup.com/SeattleWordPressMeetup/events/), but if you'd like to contribute to WordPress, we'd love your help. No previous experience needed – you just show up and we'll help you find something to do. You can see an overview of different contributor teams at make.wordpress.org (https://make.wordpress.org/). We'll be working on things like: • Documentation • Support • Subtitling videos for WordPress.tv (bring headphones) • WordPress Core Hope to see you soon!

WordPress Developer Meetup

WeWork 500 Yale Ave N

This month, we thought we'd continue with Lean Coffee (https://leancoffee.org) but keep discussion to Plugins as a general topic. Come with any questions you might have about Plugins in Wordpress. We meet on the fourth floor. Go through the main doors after the elevators and we are to the right. The front door does lock at 6pm sharp. We will have a sign on the door to text us to let you in if you show up after.

WordPress 101

Works Progress

Come get an introduction to WordPress and get some questions answered. Each class starts with a short presentation that covers what every WordPress user needs to know. This is followed by plenty of time to ask questions and troubleshoot individual website situations. You can enter through either the back or front door. Please note that we only have 4-6 parking spots available at the back of the building. There are several convenient bus stops, though.
