The Second Avenue Jewish Chorale is South Florida’s select concert choir dedicated to the performance of Jewish choral music. Under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Dr. Coreen Duffy, the Chorale draws both Jewish and non-Jewish singers and performs at diverse venues nationally. Second Avenue Jewish Chorale has performed at the North American Jewish Choral Festival in New York, the Florida American Choral Directors Association Conference at Seminole State College, the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center in South Florida, Trinity Cathedral in downtown Miami, as well as multiple South Florida synagogues and cultural centers, including the Holocaust Memorial, the Miami Jewish Home for the Aged, and the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center. In addition, Second Avenue has sung on WLRN’s popular radio show, “Folk and Acoustic,” hosted by Michael Stock, and has appeared at the smash Winter Jewish Music Concert in downtown Miami, recognized by the Miami Herald as “one of the country’s leading Jewish music concerts.” New singers are encouraged to audition year-round. You don't need to be Jewish to sing with us, but the basic ability to read music is helpful.
