Join us for a sumptuous dinner and stimulating conversation, where poet Sam Berkson will be sharing some of his writings with us on board houseboat Galatée, a warm and welcoming venue on the Regents canal near Kings Cross and Islington.

This dinner promises dishes full of colour and aroma, that are both healthy and vibrant, with plenty of vegetables, herbs and delicate flavour combinations.

Menu (all fresh market produce):

Mulled wine and canapés
Red pepper soup with herbs and soured cream
Chicken tagine with preserved lemon, baby carrots, onions and black olives on a bed of couscous

Tomato and pomegranate salad
Honey and Apricot trifle with walnuts and lavender
Coffee and chocolates
BYO drinks

This is also an opportunity to hear some engaging and inspiring poetry from ‘Angry Sam’ Berkson, and to dialogue with him on the creative process behind his slams. Involved in teaching and political activities for many years, he recently published a book of poems from his time on the refugee camps of Western Saharan bedouins (Influx Press).
“He has the rare gift of being informed and intelligent without being condescending. His poetry delivers opinions, but in a way that seems to care about yours. His poetry is warm and honest and well crafted…”– Kate Tempest, poet. _
