The Secular Party of Australia (http://www.secular.org.au) stands for freedom of and from religion. We promote a liberal secular democracy, and are working for true separation of church from state. We're a young party but growing, and have members in every state and territory. Our policies (http://www.secular.org.au/mnu-policy-details) promote equality (e.g. women's and LGBTQI rights), are based on reason and evidence and include a strong climate change policy.
The Secular Party was founded by secular humanists. We were registered just in time for the 2010 federal election, and fielded over 30 candidates across Australia, with representation from every state and the ACT. Here in South Australia we had two candidates for the Senate, with an additional candidate representing us in Boothby.
The Secular Party of Australia will be contesting the federal election in 2013. Even if you can't make it to a meetup, we'd really appreciate your help through volunteering (email@example.com) and/or donations (http://www.secular.org.au/mnu-donations).
