Seeking smart women writers (working on secular projects) who long for solitude in nature without worrying about safety issues (falling off cliffs unnoticed, creepy male hikers etc.)
The idea is for a minimum of four women to meet up in the Hawthorne District at 9 or 10 in the morning, carpool to to a beautiful location for a moderately paced (walking) 5-12 mile brown bag hike (non-drivers each contribute $5 to driver for fuel and $1 to the group for Meetup fees).
We can chat about (secular) writing or creative projects when meeting up, driving out, and (optionally) during the lunch/rest break. But actual hiking will be silent to allow for contemplation.
Note: this will not be an athletic pace, but you need to be fit enough to walk steadily for several miles with some occasional hills.
Starting in July 2015.
Contact me if you'd like to get something specific on the calendar!
P.S. Apologies are due to inspirational, self-help, New Age, and religious writers. No disrespect is meant. Nature is inherently inspirational and I just don't want anyone in this group to feel they are being subjected to evangelizing of any sort. If you organize a spiritual silent walking group (equally valid) let me know so that I can advertise it in this description for those who are interested.
