I've been wanting to screen this movie at the Hub ever since we installed the giant screen last year. This is the definitive movie of my college career, a cult classic that lacks even the cult! Never released on DVD or digitally, getting a clean, watchable copy has been a problem, but a good friend has digitized it and I'm super happy to announce we will be showing Pass the Ammo (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095832/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1). Starring Tim Curry (squeee!) and Annie Potts as the hosts of an evangelical TV program, this over-the-top comedy centers around Bill Paxton and his group of misfits trying to steal back the money swindled from a departed grandmother. Everything goes wrong, of course, but I think everyone will enjoy the show!
This is my special birthday treat, so I hope many of you will come and enjoy the movie and some cake too! Gifts are unnecessary, but if you'd like to make a special donation to the Hub (or become a member if you haven't already!) that would be terrific.
Secular Hub members are invited to hang out and watch a movie on our BIG screen at the Secular Hub on Thursday nights! Drinks, snacks, and popcorn will be available for sale. Doors will be open at 6:30pm and the movie will begin at 7:00pm.
Movies will sometimes have a secular theme, sometimes they'll just be things we all vote on and want to see. We will update individual events with the movie when available.
This is a recurring weekly event, subject to other secular events that require the Secular Hub space. We'll make sure to update the meetup each week with the movie selection and notify when they are cancelled.
Note: Secular Hub meetings such as movie night are open only to dues paying members of the Secular Hub. Sign up on line at http://www.secularhub.org/membership/ or in person at the Hub.
