Colgan Creek Trail

Let’s try some place new! Colgan Creek Trail starts right near the intersection of Stony Point Road & Todd Road in Santa Rosa. It actually starts on Stony Point right near the parking lot of the restaurant that is there.

There is some street parking right near the trailhead, though I’m not exactly sure how many cars can fit there. There is also a restaurant right next door, however their parking lot is sometimes locked up so I would think carefully about parking there. There is an open lot on the other side of Todd that could be used for parking.

We will be walking in a northerly direction to begin with. In looking at the map on google it looks like there are two sides so if this is true we will walk back on the opposite side of the creek.

The write up that I found for this states it is 1.2 miles so not terribly long but it will be flat. If people want to continue the trail does pick up on the other side of Stony Point but I cannot find any write up on that so not sure how long that trail is.

NOTES:
1. Dogs are welcome but please be considerate and keep them on a short leash
2. As always we leave at the time stated above
3. Please remember there is no need to let us know you are NOT going unless you have already said you are

I loved this trail. It was cool seeing a llama, alpaco, curling-horned sheep, black-headed sheep and 2 immature hawks fledging!

I liked it too - even though it was about 2.5 - it seemed longer ...only took us about 51 minutes to walk it.

I've been wanting to do this walk - you can't park in the restaurant parking lot - but you can park on the street - I actually think it ends near the school...so we could always start at the other end, but not sure
