All you need to make this happen is your passion and commitment!, Seoul
There comes a time in our lives when we feel like we must start and build our own group with others who share a similar background, interest and passion. Providing that sense of belonging to yourself and others may be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life.
Building a group is a long term process and it may take a lifetime but as you see it grow, you'll see this big TREE that started out of this tiny seed you planted once and how so many people will be nurtured from its branches and fruits.
How do you get started?
You don't need to be an expert to organize an awesome group. You just need something you care about and a desire to bring people together. All you have to do is let us know WHAT you'd like your group to be about and we'll help you throughout the whole process of starting and building your group, using SEOUL VILLAGE as a platform to support and promote your activities.
Here are some activities we can suggest for your group~
- Cultural Experiences: Food Tasting tours in Traditional Markets, Dinners at Noryangjin Seafood market, Jjimjilbang(Korean style sauna), Noraebang
- Fun Events: Vegetarian Dinners, Weekend Dinners at International Cuisine Restaurants, Group Visits to Interesting Festivals and Touristic places, Girl's Chat Afternoons, International Movie Nights
- Outdoor activities: Group Hiking, Long Distance Walking, Bike Riding and Yoga at Han River Park, Photography/Drawing sessions
Once you sign up for this meetup, we'll contact you ASAP to discuss how to make your first step into this new initiative. MAKE SURE YOU SEND US YOUR MOBILE NUMBER AND KAKAOTALK ID SO WE CAN REACH YOU.
How will we support your group?
We'll allow you to use a meetup page on our web page by designating you as a host and you'll be able to edit the contents of that page including the meeting date and place. In early stages, it can be challenging to have people sign up so we strongly encourage you to invite all your close friends to join you especially in your first meetups. We'll also advise you on how to improve the design of your activities and will continuously promote your meetup events on all our social media channels.
Why you should be excited about this?
This may not be the first group you're building but surely would be the first multicultural group you're starting. Seoul is one of the ecosystems where people from around the world blend in REALLY WELL~ Why? Many different factors but to name a few, Seoul has relatively more of a homogeneous culture and language can be a decisive barrier and that creates a more auspicious condition for the expats to mingle and socialize much more easily. I've personally experienced meetups where we had people from 20~30 different nationalities in one place doing the same activity~ that's just amazing!!!
