This Meetup Group explores the Opportunities and Challenges for Serviced Accommodation and provides low cost networking to people looking to develop their knowledge and skills. Any one can schedule and organise a Meetup anywhere in the UK. Meetings are open to Serviced Accommodation operators and people considering entering the market.

Meetings will be offered through the Meetup to keep organization simple. Eventbrite can be used to involve and reward members helping to make the Meetups and Workshops successful.

1. Meetups: Informal events focusing on mainly on networking with some structure, led by the Organiser, so that members can learn from the key people attending. Typical agenda at Appendix 1.

2. Online networking – through the Facebook closed Group.

3. Mini Workshops: brief 2-3 hour low cost workshops on specific topics (planned topics listed at Appendix 1)

4. Mastermind Group for committed operators only. Payment by monthly standing order. Details tbc.

About the Organisers:

John Kerris an experienced property investor, accomplished speaker and property meeting host. Since 2009, he has hosted hundreds of guests in London & Edinburgh holiday lets; working contractors in ex local authority houses, and others in serviced accommodation properties across the UK. He recently converted properties in Bucks. Sheffield and Glasgow for the SA markets and his specialty is managing and marketing remotely, without seeing a guest – not something he would recommend for all guest types! He has devised and implemented a complete SA Business System for a city centre office conversion with 20 apartments.

John was one of the first people to join airbnb in March 2012 when it bought Crashpadder with a garden flat in London N1. He now works mainly with Booking.com and on developing direct marketing systems. He has a property portfolio from Scotland to Kent.

Venue: Low cost or free (in a discrete area of a hotel for example or in a private room)

7:10 pm – Round-the-Table Introductions (60 seconds per person)

7:30 pm – Discussion on a specific topic (to be identified prior to meeting – could be led by an outside expert)
